17-Layer Damascus × VG10 From Kyoto’s Swordcraft to Your Daily Kitchen
Born from a traditional tool shop founded c. 1725 in Kyoto’s Shichijō-nishi—nearly 300 years with one belief:
“Deliver the real thing in kitchen tools.”
Every decision from materials to manufacturing is uncompromising.
The Damascus pattern is quietly striking without being loud.
Each blade is taken up by hand, and the edge is trued with care, carrying the makers’ wish to “make everyday cooking feel good.”
Cutting Performance
At the core is high-carbon stainless VG10, clad on both sides with stainless steel in a 17-layer Damascus construction.
A hard core supported by more forgiving outer layers makes the blade resistant to bending, chipping, and breaking.
This is a logic inherited from the Japanese sword.
VG10 contains chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium, offering excellent corrosion and wear resistance.
That’s why you keep getting that clean “slice in, release out” feel through daily prep.
Made in Kyoto, Japan
Refined Kyoto sensibilities meet disciplined Japanese manufacturing.
From heat treatment to grinding and assembly, specialists handle each stage for a single knife.
This precision in the details becomes comfort at the cutting board.
